2007-2008 FSCC Outstanding Chapter Award Criteria

The Florida Space Coast Council Outstanding Chapter Award is designed to encourage participation of member chapters within the FSCC.  The award will be presented to FSCC Chapters that accumulate a minimum of 84 points, based on participation in and support of the following Chapter and Council activities.

Chapter Awards:

To participate in the annual FSCC Outstanding Chapter Award, each chapter will prepare and submit documentation for the below outlined data to the Awards Committee Chair. Documentation is to be submitted on a quarterly basis with final update due by May 11. 

1. Chapter Organization:

   Organizational list of officers, board members, FSCC delegates and advisors.  Include name, mail code, telephone number, fax number, and e-mail address (if available).  Send to the FSCC Secretary by June 30^th before new administrative year (update as required).  5 points

   Copy of the July through March R-1 report to the Awards Committee Chair by May 11th. One point per completed month submitted. 9 point max

   Maximum Points – 14

    

2. FSCC Office:

   Five points for each member holding an FSCC Office (President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer)

   Maximum points - 10

    

3. FSCC Committee:

   Two points for each FSCC committee chaired or co-chaired.

   One point for each Committee Report submitted to FSCC Secretary and FSCC Awards Chair (must include attendance list).

   Two points for each active committee representative provided by the chapter.

   No maximum points

    

4. Meetings:

   One point for each delegate/BOD member in attendance at each regularly scheduled council meeting (maximum of three (voting) delegates and two officers per chapter at each meeting). 

   One point for each FSCC Committee meeting attended.

   No maximum points

    

5. FSCC Newsletter:

   Two points for each article (three article maximum per quarter), pertaining to your Chapter’s current events, submitted to the Communications Committee Chair. Communications Chair to submit Quarterly report to Awards Committee Chair.

   Maximum Points – 2

    

6. Chapter Newsletter:

   One point for each newsletter published July through April.  Submit front page for documentation (hard or soft copy).

   Maximum - 10

    

7. American Enterprise Speech Contest:

   Four points for sponsoring/co-sponsoring a contest at school level. 

   Two points for each additional school sponsored.

   Two points for attendance and helping at council level contest. 

   No Maximum Points

    

8. HOBY CLEW:

   Two points for attendance and helping with the HOBY CLEW

    

9. FSCC Joint Chapter Meetings:

   Two points for attendance at each meeting Chapters hold jointly.

   Two points for attendance at each Council held joint activity (Fall and Spring events, Speech Contest, Awards Banquet, Mini CLC, Prof Dev workshops, etc.). 

   No Maximum Points

    

10. Nominations

    Silver Knight, Gold Knight or Leadership Award Nomination:

    Five points for a qualified nomination.  (Nominee must meet criteria.) 

    Maximum Points – 5

     FSCC Council member and FSCC Member of the Year Nomination:

    Two points for a qualified nomination.  (Nominee must meet criteria.) 

    Maximum Points – 4

     

11. Conferences/Seminars

    FSCC Conferences/Seminars

    One point for each chapter member in attendance.

    No Maximum Points

    Southeast Area CLC   (Usually occurs in April)

    Two points for sending representative(s).

    Maximum Points - 2

    National Conference (Usually occurs in October)

    Two points for sending representative(s).
